The day is made up of eight sections and led by a memeber of the MN team:
Section 1: We explore the key differences between acting on screen and acting on stage and the differences from a performance perspective.
Section 2 | Practical Exercise Learn to deliver our innovative screen acting exercise, Riffing, designed to develop essential skills, helping learners connect authentically with written dialogue.
Section 3: Learn how to 'Creatively Adapt' film scripts, exploring the purpose behind this approach, its relevance to the industry, and how it helps learners avoid overacting on screen.
Section 4: Gain insights into working with the camera, how to 'mark' your space ensuring learners are confident and 'camera-aware' during their performances.
Section 5 | Practical Exercise Learn Poker Face, the second of our in-house exercises - an essential tool for mastering the technical requirements of working in a close-up.
Section 6 Practical advice on setting up your teaching environment to maximize the effectiveness of screen acting sessions.
Section 7 Delve into MN’s Core Creative Principles for screen acting, crafted to simplify and enhance your ability to identify and effectively teach screen acting as a subject.
Section 8 Introduce learners to imaginative techniques for performing in digital environments, preparing them for industry-standard practices, without industry equipment.

Our Teacher's CPD course can be streamed online or attended in person at our studios in London. By providing a disciplined and structured approach we equip teachers with the skills necessary to deliver screen acting as a subject. By way of practical exercises, we highlight the difference between stage and screen, adapting the time-honoured traditions of theatre to working in front of camera.

On completion of our teacher training course, all those who choose to take part will receive an official CPD training certificate.
Course Details
The course takes place over one day, all available dates can be found when you 'book now'.
Equipment
No equipment is required, we will supply everything you need on the day including camera's, tripods, scripts & screens for you to watch.
Experience
If you are a drama teacher with no screen acting experience or technical know-how, our course has been put together with everyone in mind.
