Welcome to MN Awards – The Heart of Film & TV Education
We've been teaching screen acting across the UK for over a decade, and let's just say, we've gotten pretty good at it. From after-school clubs and school workshops to CPD training, we've been there, done that, and got the clapperboard. In November 2023, all our hard work paid off as we passed Ofqual's application process and became a recognised awarding body, launching our first curriculum in the art of Screen Acting - a journey spanning over five years of dedication, countless cups of tea, and perhaps a few dramatic monologues in the mirror.
We're chuffed to bits to announce that we're the first new drama-based awarding body to pass the Ofqual application in over 15 years. Yes, you read that right - the first in almost two decades! Screen Acting is our first subject in what will be a suit of screen-based disciplines. It's our passion, our expertise, and frankly, it's what we've ate, slept, and breathed since the MN group launched in 2012.
What sets us apart from those bigger, better-known creative awarding bodies? Simple - we specialise. Screen acting isn't just a module for us; it's the whole script. We know it inside out, back to front, and probably upside down. We started MN at a time when teaching screen acting to a ten-year-old was virtually unheard of. Over the past decade, we've been on the ground, visiting schools, running workshops, and honing the craft of teaching the art of screen acting. It's been quite the adventure!
Oh, and did we mention we also have a rather spiffing acting agency nestled in King's Cross, London? Separate from our educational ventures, our roster boasts BAFTA nominees and Olivier Award winners, something we're very proud of. We like to think we've got an eye for talent - and perhaps a knack for nurturing it too.
We're a small team with big ideas. Together, we've poured our hearts into creating a curriculum that's inclusive, intriguing, and downright different from any other performance-based award out there. We've crafted our grades to be engaging - not just for the youngsters but for the teachers guiding them. We believe that what we've produced will challenge, inspire, and absolutely enthral when delivered by the right hands.
