MN AFTER-SCHOOL CLUBS
FILMMAKING CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITY FOR ACADEMIC YEARS THREE TO EIGHT
If you are a part of a school and are interested in sampling our services prior to a full commitment, we extend an invitation to partake in a complimentary workshop. These workshops emphasise hands-on learning in filmmaking and performance, wherein students actively participate in various roles such as actors, camera operators, sound engineers, and directors. We supply all necessary equipment, including cameras, ensuring a comprehensive experience.
Alternatively, schools can bypass the preliminary workshop and directly establish an after-school club with our program. This option offers an immediate, immersive exposure to our curriculum, fostering an environment of creativity, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
A free introductory workshop for every school
Our workshops are a great way for schools to get to know us & vice versa! To be frank, our hope is the workshop is so great that it generates lots of interest, so much so that you/your school may consider running a more permanent MN after-school club in film & television. (More about our clubs further down this page).
Rest assured, there is no obligation. If we or our workshops don't resonate with your students, će la vie, while some schools may not be keen, the majority love what we do & understand the benefits.

REEL SUCCESS. In an era steering towards digital supremacy, storytelling emerges as a business linchpin, carving human connections that enthrall audiences, notably on social media, nurturing brand allegiance. Yet, its essence spills over to marketing, advertising, and corporate communication, morphing products into relatable tales, articulating corporate ethos, and translating raw data into coherent narratives, enhancing comprehension and decision-making.
Melding filmmaking clubs into school curricula unfolds a realm where students master storytelling alongside teamwork, critical thinking, and technical prowess, all vital for thriving in creative or corporate domains. The resultant digital portfolios not only keep parents in the loop but also serve as school promotional material.
Concurrently, the UK's entertainment industry, projected to swell to nearly 88 billion pounds by 2025, offers a glimpse into abundant prospects through performance-based subjects. Seize this chance; engage in a free film, television workshop, or establish an innovative after-school club, and unlock a world where creativity meets opportunity.
We have been very happy with the service provided by MN Academy. The girls love the Film Making Club and are always eager to participate each term. All correspondence has been extremely professional, and any issues are sorted quickly. We look forward to continuing to work with MN in the future

We have been working with MN Academy for many years now. The children love the clubs and they have proven to be a very popular choice! From a teacher's point of view, MN Academy are extremely professional in their commitments and are a breeze to work with. Their tutors are always professional and have a lovely manner with the children.

A fantastic club, our Year 3 to 6 have particularly enjoyed using the cameras to create different shots & act out their story lines. MN edit & put pupils 'takes' together in film format & the pupils love to see themselves on TV! The staff are friendly & professional & teach vital skills - including film directing, leadership & teamwork. Screen acting is a totally different skill to acting on stage as our pupils have discovered. The club accomodates the quieter child & slowly builds confidence behind the camera via directing, camera operation, some even go onto move the other side of camera.

Frequently Asked Questions
Our clubs are generally 60 mins long, although we can adapt this to suit school’s needs. Our classes normally take place in the ‘after school club’ slot, although if appropriate, we’re happy to discuss breakfast and lunchtime clubs.
When do the classes take place?
We can welcome up to fifteen students in a class, and generally require a minimum of nine.
How many students can you accommodate?
For a ten-week term, we charge £105 per student. We’re happy to adjust costings for longer or shorter terms and can invoice parents directly, or, go via the school.
How much does the filmmaking club cost?
Absolutely! If your school has enough sign-ups, we’re happy to run the classes. We work with several schools where we run multiple sessions for different year groups.
Could you provide more than one class a week?
Generally speaking, our classes are suitable for KS2 and KS3 (up to year 8).
What year groups can take part?
In short, yes! We’re happy to create bespoke short courses to fit into a topic at school. Creating documentaries, news reports & interviews can be a great way for students to deepen their understanding of topics and communicate what they’ve learned. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
